Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher patched up

One of most lasting friendships that broke recently has been revived again. After almost three years of a cold war involving an enormously aggressive silence from both ends, past best buddies Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor patched up in full public view, at the premiere of the Sikander's debut film Woodstock Villa on Thursday night. Psychologically charged after watching his son's debut film, Anupam said that it was very generous of Anil to come. Although he did expect him to make an appearance, he had his doubts, as they hadn't been in touch for more than three years for whatsoever reasons. It must have been noticed that during this cold war, Anupam was not seen at the premiere of Anil's daughter Sonam's debut film Saawariya or even at the premiere of Anil Kapoor's home production Gandhi My Father.
The bone of controversy between the two buddies was none other than the follower of peace himself - Mahatma Gandhi. Anupam had announced his production Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara with himself in the lead. When overnight, without being informed by his friend, Anupam heard that Anil had launched Gandhi My Father with Darshan Jariwala and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles, Anupam felt hurt and betrayed. There ended the duo's seemingly unbreakable dosti…until now. Anupam said that he had decided to invite Anil on an impulse, for son Sikander's sake. He said that he was passing by Anil's office and it struck him that he should invite him. But he didn't have his phone number since he had changed his cell phone. So he drove down to his office and invited him personally for the premiere. Anil was definitely startled but was very welcoming.

Jatin Lalit patching up their relationship

As we all know that Music director Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit had split a couple of years ago. It is heard that Jatin Pandit wants to patch up with his brother and put an end to the problems between them. Jatin and Lalit who are both part of the TV show Waar Parivaar, which is hosted by Urmila Matondkar, have tried to solve their differences while judging the show. Admitting that it was he who initiated the patch up, Jatin said that Urmila, who is the host of the show Waar Parivaar, told him that they should end their differences and again make the music that they used to. He told him that he is keen to patch up but he needed to speak to Lalit first. He also told that Aap hi milan karva dijiye. In fact, she helped them take the first step and Lalit and he hugged each other.
Both Jatin-Lalit started their career with Yaara Dildara in 1991 and came in the news for the super hit music of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Later, the two went on to give music in many a hit films including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Khamosh, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Khamoshi, Mohabbatein, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Hum Tum, Mohabbat and the recent Fanaa. However, both the brothers started having personal differences during the making of Fanaa in which they worked last together.

Third project of Aish with John Abraham gone wrong

It seems that Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan would've liked nothing better than doing films with husband Abhishek Bachchan. She has on more than one occasion, told close friends that even professionally, being paired with Abhishek is what she is most comfortable with. So when buddy Karan Johar offered Aishwarya a chance to work with Abhishek in Dostana, with the sunny beach-side atmosphere of Miami being a plus, she was all for it.
All seemed well, even though, the role required her to romance not just Abhishek, but also John Abraham, and, finally walk away with a third man! The third man is to be played by none other than Bobby Deol, who makes a surprise entry at the end of Dostana. Karan Johar said that Bobby has a very special role in the film. Special indeed, because he gets the girl from Abhishek and John!
Aishwarya refused Dostana simply because she couldn't see herself romancing three men on screen, with her married Bachchan-bahu status. Also, Dostana required her to sport a lot of beachwear. Having refused to wear beachwear in Dhoom:2 already, she didn't give a second thought to declining Dostana.
The Lucky girl to have stepped into Aishwarya's role is Priyanka Chopra. Dostana is the second film where Priyanka Chopra has benefited from Ash leaving the project, the first being Rohan Sippy's Bluff Master, in 2005. This would be Aishwarya's third project with John Abraham gone wrong.

Talking to Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra 's relationship has been a topic of assumption for a long time now. Shilpa said that Raj is helping her out with her production house. He's a great businessman and knows the fundamentals of a business, which she is not so well versed with. Talking about her personal relationship and its progress she says that it was too personal to talk about! But when wheedled a bit, she said that he is very special in her life. She also said that she has decided to settle down after marriage and take it easy. But before that happens, she wants to give it her best and try out everything so she has no regrets of missing out on anything later. Meanwhile, there's already a murmur around that Shilpa Shetty shoot kar rahi hai, go the crowds at Nariman Point. She's shooting for The Man directed by Sunny Deol. She grumbles a bit, upset about the media bashing she has received after her return from the Big Brother's home. She was made a scapegoat by the media and pulled up for wrong reasons. But when the issue got compressed, nobody took note of it. The Richard Gere controversy really put her off!

Just back from Miami after shooting a song for Karan's Dostana, Shilpa's hands are full. She's all set to launch her very own version of Yoga CDs on June 6. Though her recent achievements abroad are noteworthy, a big hit in Bollywood still eludes her. She is obviously excited about her new role running her production house. She seems that it's quite a task as she works in her office with a complete corporate look, and using brains can be so taxing!

Bhansali remaking Charulata of Satyajit Ray

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already insulted the deep feelings of Bengalis once with his overemotional version of Sharat Chandra Chatterjee's quiet classic, Devdas. Now it is heard that he is planning to remake Satyajit Ray's Charulata, starring Soumitra Chatterjee and Madhabi Mukherjee. The director registered the title of Charulata in August 2007, with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association. Bhansali has an attraction for highly emotional subjects like these and Charulata has a huge potential of being remade in today's time. Only, will he turn Soumitra Chatterjee and Madhabi Mukherjee's quiet romance into a high-pitched drama? However, there is another contender for the same subject. Amitabh Neil Ray also wants to remake Charulata and has planned to title the film, Charu: Unspoken. Ray, supposedly, wants to make a modern version of the film and wants to set the film in America. Even as Bhansali and Ray aim to remake the film, Satyajit Ray who made the film in 1964 had felt that Charulata was his best work and there was no need for him to remake the film. The film won Ray his second Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Fest in 1964. The original Charulata was based on a story written by Rabindranath Tagore and starred Bengali actors like Madhabi Mukherjee and Soumitra Chatterjee
