Aamir Unveils Book

On 29th July Aamir Khan revealed, Ganga - A Divinity in Flow, at a press conference held at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The pictorial book has pictures by Atul Bhardwaj and text by Vijay Singal. The preface of the book is written by Amitabh Bachchan.
Aamir Khan, Chunky Pandey, Parsoon Joshi, Rakesh Mehra and many others were present for the event.

Shamita Shetty shoes maniac

Recently it is known that Shamita Shetty hates sharing her shoes. Actually the actress has a huge collection of shoes, but she is very possessive about them. Shamita assets her shoes and maintains them very well. She cares for them like a child taking care of her new toy. Most of her shoes are designer crafted ones that she has bought from famous shops abroad. Shoes are also the reason for Shamita’s unhappiness. Shamita perpetually lands up sharing everything with sister Shilpa.
Shamita doesn’t minds sharing them because the two sisters are habitual of sharing things with each other. But some times possessive Shamita does have problems leaving her things. Especially when it comes to her shoes, Shilpa cannot even think of stepping into.

A television show inspired by Sarkar

A Television show inspired by Sarkar is coming up. It is known that a family drama is set against the background of the underworld. It tells the story of a true waaris for the position created by some senior don.
It is the story of Rudra Pratap Singh whose role is played by Ashish Vidyarthi, an aging mafia don. This Rudra is married to Yashodhara played by Indira Krishnan who has two sons, Shankar (Iqbal Khan) and Shaurya (Yuvraj Malhotra). Gayatri (Shilpa Shinde) is Shankar's wife and Rucha Gujrathi plays Shaurya’s girlfriend.
Iqbal Khan disagrees this that the promos look similar to Sarkar
He said that Waaris is the story of a family that does not deal with drugs or contract killings. It is the family that fights for the right cause.
Iqbal Khan is doing the role of Shankar in this show where he is the eldest son. He is obedient and loyal to his father. But he is also stubborn with an out of control temper. He will react 500 times more strongly than original Iqbal would. He would probably kill a person in a fit of anger.
He also said further that he is a competent actor and the character too is not that complex. He is aware that he is not a very good actor but he knows his job. They don’t get sufficient time to do any research since it's a daily soap.
It is a very nice experience working with the production house, Ugraya. Smriti is a person, who gets creatively involved in her projects. As for Ashish, he is a fantastic actor and before each scene, they discuss it and give our best shot. Choona Hai Aasmaan was not promoted right. It changed track and did not stick to the Air Force background. He had told everyone when he joined the show that he would quit if the track lost focus and so he moved out of the show.
Iqbal says that reality shows are good to watch. He keeps on getting offers but he is not comfortable doing them. Someday, he would love to host a show.

Drona promo of Abhishek and Priyanka

As we all know, the first promo of Goldie Behl’s Drona initiated airing from Sunday. It seems that because of this the promo the filmmaker got a good feedback, but the leading lady of the film, Priyanka Chopra is completely stunned and displeased, according to her close friends. The entire promo lasts for a minute, but it does not have even the briefest glance of Priyanka Chopra in it. All the way it’s only Abhishek Bachchan.
There are rumours that the first teaser promo of Drona is out and amazingly Priyanka is nowhere in it. It might be the approach of the producers to start with the promotion of Abhishek Bachchan since he plays Drona, but Priyanka as we all know is one of the top stars in the industry currently and is not awfully happy about being completely ignored. Apparently, she moped and brood the whole day when she saw the promo.
Shrishti Arya, producer of Drona, said that it is not true that Priyanka is saddened. Priyanka is a very close friend and she has loved the promo. If Priyanka was upset she would have known about it, since she has already met her twice after she saw the promo. She gave her no indication. It is all part of the promotions and she will also feature in the promo later, that’s been decided already. Somebody also said that Priyanka is not the kind of person to get affected by all this. She knows the marketing strategy of producers.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra, Harman Baweja is somewhat splintered. Abhishek and Aishwarya are a little allergic to Priyanka’s boyfriend Harman, and this probably rubs off on her as well. Lately, the Bachchans even enquired if Harman’s publicist had spread the story of Aishwarya being tipsy and giggly during the IIFA awards. Speculated if this has anything to do with Priyanka being left out, or is it purely a marketing strategy again

Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey engaged

From past many days rumours are common that Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey are living in together. The murmur is that they are finally going to make their association official and announce their engagement soon. The actress, who was staying with Ranvir in a rented apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, has recently bought a four-bedroom flat in Goregaon, which she’s busy designing. They’re a very ice-cold out pair and regularly host get-togethers for friends. It’s good fun spending time with them. Soon, they will be shifting into their new apartment in Goregaon. They’re quite serious about each other and plan to get engaged very soon.
However, there are others who insist that the pair actually have gotten engaged. What is confirmed, however, is that they have done Mira Nair’s movie How Can It Be? in concert. The movie, according to Ranvir, is a short film that was shot in New York. He has said that working with Konkona was fun, but has called her a “friend”. The pair has also featured in Mixed Doubles. On the engagement, the actor has been cagey at best, saying that it’s a personal choice not to talk about the subject.
Recently, however, at the ongoing Cinefan film festival in Delhi, when someone walked up to director Aparna Sen that is Konkona’s mom, and congratulated her on Koko’s engagement to Ranvir, she simply smiled and replied, “Thank you.” She, Koko and Ranvir went about together, quite like family, but none of the three spoke on the subject of the young couple’s relationship.

In the meantime, an undercover MI5 agent gets a CD that contains the recording of his kidnapped wife and is asked to pursue the commands. But in next to no time he comes to know that he is being used as a weapon to assassinate the Prime Minister of India on his London tour. His wife in the meantime is planning to escape. Her only ray of hope is the telephone call she’s accidentally made to that guy. As he decides to help Richa, his girlfriend warns to break up again. But, he is now hell-bent on rescuing Richa no matter what happens.

Kabir Bedi will be seen in Showman next

Kabir Bedi, who was last seen in Akbar Khan's Taj Mahal in 2005, is all set to return to the big screen after a gap of nearly three years. He is slated to play a con artiste in Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming film Showman, which stars Govinda and Celina Jaitley in the lead roles.
It seems that they’ll start shooting in London from the July 23.
Right from the time when the film was in its scripting stages, Kabir was Tigmanshu’s in mind to essay the role of the conman. He was apprehensive since he rarely does films now. However, once narrated the script to him, he was ready, and excited about the film.
Dhulia said that the con artiste's character in the film is urbane, stylish and has a powerful aura around him. It makes it easy for a con artiste to dupe his victims when he has such a personality.
He is an extremely handsome person who travels in expensive cars, like the Mercedes. For this role, someone older was expected and they weren't looking for actors from the younger lot. Kabir fits the bill perfectly and he is glad that he has agreed to act in Showman.
Tigmanhsu Dhulia is also working on a film based on a soldier, Pan Singh Tomar, which will star Irrfan Khan.

Ritesh miss a shoot of Do Knot Disturb

Recently Ritesh Deshmukh remained absent on the sets of David Dhawan's upcoming movie Do Knot Disturb because of which his co-stars Govinda and Lara Dutta had to leave early. The shoot was scheduled to be from 9 am to 9 pm at Juhu. However, director David Dhawan had to pack up the shoot by 1.30 pm. Govinda and Lara arrived on time and just sat waiting for Ritesh to turn up. When the crewmembers tried to contact him, he was inaccessible. Finally, at around noon, Ritesh informed the crew that he could not make it to the shoot.
In the meantime, Govinda and Lara shot a few scenes, which did not require Ritesh and were then told that they were free to leave. David Dhawan had no choice but to call 'Pack up' because most of the scenes that had to be shot required Ritesh.
It was rather unfortunate that Govinda and Lara had nothing to do and were waiting for Ritesh who said that he was busy and did not come for the shoot. When contacted, Vashu Bhagnani who is the producer of Do Knot Disturb denied this story and said that Ritesh wasn't supposed to shoot with them. He is busy with his rehearsals for The Unforgettable tour. They didn't call for a pack-up; there was no shoot that day. However, Govinda confirmed that the shooting had to be called off. He confirmed that they only shot till 2 pm after which they went home.

Imitation a best form of flattery between Jiah and Kangana

It seems that Kangana Ranaut is flattered when she learnt that Jiah Khan is hell-bent on mimicking her. Now the Kangana Ranaut-Jiah Khan face-off, which was learnt to have started a few months ago, has taken an ugly turn. It is known that Jiah has now started coping Kangana. Jiah and Kangana have a common fashion designer, Rick Roy. Some days ago, Jiah asked Rick Roy about Kangana’s outfits. She wanted to wear exactly the same outfits, which Rick designs for Kangana. At times, she even wears the outfit that Kangana has returned after wearing once. Jiah even keeps tabs on Kangana’s vital statistics, as she wants to have a figure like Kangana. Jiah’s insecurity became well known when recently her manager accused Rick of being partial to Kangana just because Kangana is Rick’s good friend. Jiah’s manager even told Rick in no uncertain terms that he should go all out to ensure that she looks extremely good always. Rick was bewildered about why Jiah’s team doubted his priorities. A few days ago, Kangana wore a gold outfit at a public function and after the function was over, Jiah asked for the same dress.
Both Jiah and Kangana took gold outfits from Rick recently, but they didn’t have an identical design. It’s just that the fabric used for both the outfits was the same.
Reportedly, the Kangana-Jiah cold war started when the former had been almost finalized for Aamir Khan’s Ghajini but was later replaced by Jiah Khan for reasons best known to the film’s unit.

Gulzar is all set to write a script for daughter Meghna

It is known that for Gulzar, his daughter Meghna is the center of his universe. When Meghna Gulzar branched out as a director with a self-written script Filhaal, Gulzar had said that let her. She needs to establish her own identity. He can't have her holding his hand all the time.
Now that Meghna is a big girl and has also proved herself with Filhaal, Gulzar is ready to co-script her next film, Milte Hain that is a romantic comedy. Sanjay Gupta, will co-produce the film in all probability, with Rahul Bose and Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead.
Sanjay said that Bosky (nickname of Meghna) directed a segment of his Dus Kahaniyaan, now he wanted her to do a full-fledged film for him. Milte Hain is a wonderful romantic comedy written by Meghna and Gulzar Saab. It's based on an English play.

Film Star is a movie that stars Mahima Chaudhary. Fed-up of the physical abuse meted out to her at the hands of her husband and her in-laws, Leela Sharma pours kerosene on her husband, Abhishek, and burns him alive. This horrifies the community, and the Sharma family files a police complaint, get Leela arrested and held in prison until she gets sentenced. Since Pandit Chandrakant Sharma has a wealthy background, as well as is a Minister in the ruling political party, all are quite certain that Leela will end up getting the death sentence. Then a Bollywood actress, Heera Pandit, hoping to get some publicity from this trial to help her with her career, gets involved and actively supports Leela, thus earning the wrath of several political, religious, and even women’s groups. Heera meets with Leela, hires a lawyer, Digamber Puri, to defend her and the stage is set for a trial that has the attention of the nation, as not only is Leela on trial - but Indian traditions too, and the result may change the lives of many people all over the country.

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic fared badly

It is known that yet another big-budget film of Yash Raj Films has come a cropper. It seems that Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic has registered poor collections. The result, apparently, was a huge showdown between Aditya Chopra and Kunal Kohli on Sunday.
It appears that the two traded blame heatedly. Aditya blamed Kunal for the poor product while Kunal blamed Aditya for poor business insight. He reportedly told Aditya in no vague terms that had they sold the film to a corporate oversize, they would at least have made some table profit. Kunal also complained that Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic was not publicised well.
It was also known that the corporate giant had offered Kunal Kohli and Yash Raj Films a huge sum for this Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer. Kunal, who’s a co-producer, was very keen to sell the film, but Yash Raj Films was not interested.
The showdown was big enough. Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic has fared very badly. The opening collections in the UK are worse than that of Tashan. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic registered very good collections only on Saturday. From Monday, it started dipping. The collections must have created havoc in Yash Raj Films. Overseas, the film has done worse than Tashan. It’s a huge disappointment. Nobody expected the film to flop so badly and there were a couple of corporate companies interested in the film. If they had sold the film, the distributors would have suffered and the co-producers would have been sitting pretty.
